Too often we focus on “behavioral issues” with those living with dementia and miss opportunities to improve their overall well-being. This program will discuss a proactive approach to care that has the potential to prevent distress in those living with dementia. By the end of the program the participant should be able to:
• Describe why person-centered care for those living with dementia is important
• Describe alternative approaches to behavioral responses
• Identify three approaches that could potentially prevent behavioral responses
