In March 2025, the Church Historian's Press will publish a landmark book: Carry On: The Latter-day Saint Young Women Organization, 1870-2024. It is the first scholarly history of this organization that has been central to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for over 150 years. The roundtable discussion of the book will highlight how themes of individual development, spiritual and religious identity, generational crisis and continuity, globalization, and socialization into the church community have unfolded over time in the context of constant cultural and institutional change. We will also address the dynamic parameters of creating a scholarly church publication, including questions of audience, and the scholarly frameworks employed in writing the history. We will also consider the book's contributions to the wider field of Mormon history, Latter-day Saint women's history, studies of women and religion and youth and childhood more generally.
