Integrating Network and Cybersecurity Planning Into Design and Acquisition Strategies
In March 2022, the Department of Health and Human Services reported a 45% increase in electronic protected healthcare information (ePHI) breaches, targeting healthcare organizations in the United States. 1 Project Managers must anticipate network planning and cybersecurity requirements in order to overcome or avoid expensive and time-consuming challenges throughout the healthcare facility design process. During this presentation, we will discuss medical system network requirements related to design. We will also review the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and identify best practices used in past DoD Initial Outfitting & Transition (IO&T) projects that integrated Cybersecurity requirements early into the acquisition strategy resulting a streamlined accreditation process.
