Stormwater management practices must consistently evolve to keep up with the challenges of denser development, erratic weather, and new regulations. Green Infrastructure practices have become increasingly popular in recent years, providing options that mimic the natural hydrology of a site. As sites become more challenging to develop, the available technology has also improved. In this course, we will discuss the benefits that green infrastructure practices can offer to a site over traditional “gray” infrastructure. We will also discuss how to combine gray and green practices to optimize cost, performance and maintainability of systems using a variety of available technologies. The presentation will be followed by some local project profiles and solutions with time for questions and conversations among the participants.
