Presentation of the FOCUS approach to dynamic integration
FOCUS looks into ways to facilitate integration which is dynamic and innovative, ultimately contributing to more social inclusion.
In this session we present the five pillars of the FOCUS approach to dynamic integration.
FOCUS adheres to the EU’s definition of integration as a two-way dynamic process where both arriving and receiving communities have responsibilities. Members of receiving communities have lived in a location for a certain number of years, members of arriving communities have moved to a location more recently. Thus, a person arriving from e.g. Syria becomes part of the receiving community over time.
FOCUS looks into ways to facilitate integration which is dynamic and innovative, ultimately contributing to more social inclusion.
Four core features of the FOCUS approach to dynamic integration have been identified:
Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)
Participatory & Co-creative Quality
Involvement of both Receiving & Arriving Communities
Multi-stakeholder Partnerships & Cooperation
Volunteerism
