As Jewish and Muslim religious – political parties and ideologies grow in their influence throughout the Middle East, the question is who can mediate between the 'extremes' to prevent a head-on Holy collision? This session will explore the identity and activity of 'insider religious mediators', who, through their trusted networks, work behind the scenes to prevent and mitigate crisis situations daily both within Israel and throughout the Middle East. The session will also explore some of the core Jewish texts on third-party peacemaking that serve as a theoretical model and inspiration for this challenging work.
