During this highly interactive session, participants will learn how to categorize their family engagement activities, which strategies have the most impact on student outcomes and how to move from implementing activities where “families just show up” to events that build the capacity of families to support learning every time! Learning objectives: Participants will be able to categorize family engagement activities based on their purpose and level of impact. Participants will identify high-impact family engagement strategies that support improved student outcomes. Participants will distinguish between participation-based events and capacity-building experiences for families. Participants will apply strategies to design family engagement opportunities that build families’ ability to support learning at home.
