The ANSI C136.41 “7-Pin” standard evolution is a case-study on how standards evolve over time to better meet the requirements of the market. In this presentation I will share the history of the standard, what revisions are about to be published and what potential items still need to be addressed. The ANSI lighting standards are driven in large part by the real-world problems and needs that lighting operators encounter so the active participation of the lighting community in sharing ideas and use-cases helps make a more useful standard.
