This workshop examines how prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination influence parenting plan evaluations and legal outcomes in family court. Through real-world examples and psychological theory, participants will learn how implicit and explicit bias can enter the evaluation process from referral to report writing. The session offers practical tools, such as cultural consultation, structured interview protocols, and language reframing, to reduce bias and improve equity in legal decision-making. Case studies will illustrate how marginalized parents are often misinterpreted and how evaluators can promote fairness and accuracy.
