In a rapidly changing healthcare environment, how can clinicians ensure that our prescriptions remain safe and effective? Clinicians may feel drawn to; new delivery technologies that claim to improve therapeutic activity; activated nutrient forms that promise greater clinical efficacy, and; testing that offers to find the root cause for our patient's symptoms. However, it is imperative for natural health practitioners to critically evaluate new technologies for efficacy, assess new nutrient forms for safety and efficiency, and analyse functional testing for validity and clinical relevance. In this session, Samuel will propose a framework from which clinicians can assess an ever-changing naturopathic toolkit to ensure prescribing is fit-for-purpose, effective and offers the least likelihood to cause harm. This thought provoking presentation aims to challenge some conventional norms and examine how clinicians can align modern prescribing with core naturopathic principles for better patient care and therapeutic outcomes. The discussion seeks to identify key anchoring ideologies that will ensure naturopathic medicine continues to thrive now and into the future.
