For 10 years the Automotive Grade (AGL) Unified Code Base (UCB) has been the premier open source distributribution for in-vehicle infotainment, instrument cluster and telematics gateway devices. In December 2025, we introduced SoDeV an open source SDV reference platform. SoDeV combines the AGL UCB with a Type 1 hypervisor (Xen), VirtIO and Zephyr to enable mixed criticality SDV use cases. SoDeV also enables Android Automotive guests to run in paralell with any of those guests as well. Walt will present the new AGL Vibrant Vimba release that allows anyone to build their own open source SDV reference system.
