As Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) shift toward centralized computing, vehicle networks face a dangerous paradox. Continuous over-the-air (OTA) application deployment introduces massive security risks, particularly from memory-corruption vulnerabilities common in traditional C/C++ automotive stacks. At the same time, legacy AUTOSAR signal matrices are rigid, making it difficult for dynamic, cloud native applications to securely access low-level vehicle data. This talk presents a production-ready computation platform that solves these challenges by combining Realtime Java (RTSJ) and the OSGi framework with pure Java implementation of SOME/IP that can bridge AUTOSAR signals to VSS. This combination creates a strongly typed, memory-safe execution environment capable of dynamically loading third-party applications while maintaining strict isolation and deterministic vehicle signal processing. The result is quicker and safer application integration, where the same code can on both Linux and QNX with and without AUTOSAR. Attendees will gain deep technical insight into the following topics: • Dynamic modularity: Using OSGi's lifecycle layers to deploy, configure, and iso late third-party apps on the fly. • Deterministic execution: How deterministic garbage collection supports realtime response. • Reduced time-to-market: How using OSGi and Realtime Java accelerates the development process while avoiding unnecessary serialization. Ultimately, this session will prove that combining Realtime Java and OSGi delivers a safe, modern, and cloud-connected runtime engine that simplifies the developer experience without sacrificing the strict safety foundations of classic automotive engineering. The underlying technology has more than ten years of deployment in serval millions of vehicles.
