This presentation offers a trauma-informed, community-centered approach to understanding and healing trauma. Presenters will provide accessible psychoeducation on the biology of trauma and common trauma responses, clarify misconceptions about PTSD, and explore how trauma shows up across the lifespan. Evidence-based treatment approaches and practical tools will be shared to help individuals and professionals support nervous system regulation, challenge stuck points, and foster resilience. Emphasizing the power of language, connection, and psychological safety, the presentation highlights how communities can reduce stigma, strengthen healing relationships, and promote post-traumatic growth, which aligns directly with the conference theme of Empowering Communities: No Limits, No Stigma!

1. Identify at least three common trauma responses and explain the basic neurological processes involved in trauma.
2. Describe at least two ways trauma may present across different populations.
