Aging Roundtable will follow session.
Aging in place allows older adults to remain in their homes and communities safely, independently, and comfortably. As people age, communities must adapt to support changing needs. This session explores practical strategies that strengthen the social, physical, and service-based places required for older adults to thrive. We will examine how coordinated support systems, such as: accessible housing modifications, reliable transportation, fall‑prevention initiatives, technology inclusion, and strong social networks, can dramatically improve quality of life. Attendees will gain insight into how local organizations, service providers, and community leaders can collaborate to ensure older adults maintain independence, connection, and dignity as they age.
By the end of this session, you will:
• Understand the core principles of aging in place and why it matters for our communities.
• Learn community‑driven strategies that enhance safety, accessibility, and social engagement for older adults.
• Discover practical tools and programs that expand access to services such as transportation, home repair, technology support, and caregiver resources.
You play a vital role in creating communities where older adults can flourish. Take the ideas, tools, and strategies from this session back to your organization, and begin implementing changes that empower older adults to age with independence, purpose, and connection.
