In this session we’ll talk about how to write survey questions that capture family and community conditions, like housing stability and affordability, employment barriers, transportation challenges, food security concerns, and affordable, available childcare, rather than simply identifying needed services. We’ll also look at how surveys fit into a broader data picture that includes internal agency reports, customer satisfaction results, focus group findings, partner input, and community-level data. By shifting from “What service do you need?” to “What condition or status are you experiencing?”, agencies can gather clearer, more useful data that supports the creation of stronger, results-oriented plans.
