This information session provides an overview of KY PATH (Peer Assistance Through Helping), a free, statewide program for caregivers across Kentucky. KY PATH is designed to support caregivers by connecting them with peers who have lived caregiving experience and understand the challenges that caregiving can bring.
During this session, participants will learn about the core components of the KY PATH program, including the roles of KY PATH Guides and KY PATH Partners. Guides are caregivers who have supported others in similar roles and offer connection, encouragement, and understanding through shared experience. Partners are organizations and community groups that help connect caregivers to the program and support outreach efforts across the state.
The session will walk through the application process, including how caregivers or Guides can apply, what information is collected, and how privacy is protected. Participants will also learn how the pairing process works, including how caregivers are thoughtfully matched with a Guide based on shared experiences and preferences.
In addition, the session will review the information session completed by KY PATH Guides, which helps Guides understand their role, boundaries, and expectations before being paired with caregivers.
This session is open to caregivers, community members, and partner organizations interested in learning more about KY PATH, referring caregivers, or exploring ways to support caregiver well-being across Kentucky.
