Children learn through play and play is a young child's work. In Kentucky, 1 in 3 adults lives with a disability. Yet, far fewer adults with disabilities are employed than those without disabilities. One way to prepare our young children with disabilities for a future filled with employment they enjoy is to set expectations early. This presentation will focus on ways to incorporate job awareness into play spaces, and developmentally appropriate practices which set up children for success as they enter school and the future workforce.
Learning Objectives:

1. Learn about disability related employment statistics for adults in Kentucky
2. Reflect on the role of play in exposure to new ideas.
