Current efforts in the conservation field in Wisconsin and beyond are focusing on making our sector more diverse, equitable, and inclusive (DEI), acknowledging the decades of institutional racism and other barriers that have resulted in the exclusion of communities of color and other underrepresented groups. This roundtable discussion will include a brief presentation about current efforts underway to make Wisconsin’s conservation community more inclusive. The following discussion will engage participants in reflecting on DEI within the context of their own organizations, including challenges and barriers, and identifying actionable opportunities and considerations they can take away to advance DEI work within their own professional efforts. Participants are encouraged to reflect on this topic in advance and will be invited to share as part of the group discussion. Anyone with an interest and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is welcome to participate.
