The Partnership for Food Traceability (PFT) is an independent, sector-neutral nonprofit developing a shared, overarching vision for food traceability across the supply chain.
With the deadline for the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Traceability Rule (204) extended, the industry has been given an expanded opportunity to work with FDA on developing frameworks for an industry-shaped interoperable traceability system. In this pre-conference workshop, sponsored and led by the Partnership for Food Traceability (PFT), participants will take part in small group, hands-on exercises focused on tracing product from farm to fork, using the PFT-developed simulated data set. The session will explore challenges and solutions in sharing traceability information with trading partners. Takeaways include practical resources to apply frameworks for supply chain traceability, product flow mapping, identification of Critical Tracking Events (CTEs) and Key Data Elements (KDEs), master data roles and responsibilities, and more. In addition to participants’ knowledge gain, the workshop will provide for the testing and validating of the PFT specifications; help identify gaps and challenges; and facilitate meaningful industry-FDA dialogue on use cases.
