VOICES OUT LOUD, Writing and Creativity Workshop With Austin Dean Ashford
The purpose of Voices Out Loud is to amplify the student voice at our regional festival and to encourage students to apply their artistic talents as a means to educate, challenge, entertain, and advocate for underrepresented voices.
This year on Wednesday -Friday afternoons Austin Dean Ashford will be leading workshops focusing on the same themes previously mentioned in the Voices Out Loud program. They include:
LGBTQ+
A day of “Isms”
All about the isms people face on a daily basis and in theatre
Feminism, ableism, colorism, racism, anti-Semitism, etc.
BIPOC Representation
Empowerment Day

How to empower others
At the end of the festival on Saturday afternoon, A select number of writers and performers will be able to perform their work for an open audience of festival attendees.
How to Apply
Students will be required to preregister for one of the creativity and writing workshops
Preregistration will open December 22, 2020, and will remain open until all slots have been taken.
Students must be registered for the festival in order to participate
Students will only be allowed to register for one of the workshops.
Each workshop will have 30 students max.
