Welcome to Droznin, the movement technique taught at the world-renowned Moscow Art Theatre School, and the cornerstone of the National Theater Institute’s movement curriculum. Through a series of rigorous physical exercises, stretches, and balance poses, participants will slowly unlock the body, freeing them up for the work they will need to do on stage. Be prepared to sweat a little, to move, and to gain ways to tend to your body. The point of Droznin is to better connect your physical impulses to the work you do as an actor/performer.
All experience levels welcome in this movement workshop and everyone who attends must wear comfortable clothing. You are permitted to watch, if you are working with an injury. I also recommend you have your video on and are in a space that you can move around in. We may be able to work with partners (and do some fun partner stretching) if you come to the virtual workshop with a partner/have a buddy in the room with you.
