Demystify that first-day anxiety from the perspective of designers, asst designers and stagehands.
Being the new kid can be scary. How to act, what to say, what to bring, who to talk to... every has faced this problem. We'll approach this question from the perspective of designers, assistant designers, and stagehands and demystify that first-day anxiety.
I love questions and comments from the class. We're all in this together, and everyone learns differently. If you like to talk in class, consider thinking about experiences you've had being the new kid in the room and how you felt about it and what you'd most like to share with the next new kid in your shoes. Alternately/additionally, consider thinking about experiences you aspire to, such as your first show in a professional regional/off-Broadway/Broadway theater. What are some things you're nervous or apprehensive about? What are some things you're excited about.
Participants are encouraged to be on camera, but not required. Note-taking is entirely optional.
