PCHS implemented effective PLCs using the DuFour 4 questions with fidelity. The English Department began this work and increased 16 points from 36% proficiency to 52% proficiency in English 2 End of Course Assessment.
Teachers used NC Check In Assessments, teacher made assessments and found areas where the curriculum was not aligned and began planning interventions that addressed student academic deficiencies. The entire English department focused on learning how to provide interventions, scheduled students for Flextime intervention, created formative assessments to consistently measure the outcomes. We saw classrooms that were 90% proficient because of using the data to drive instruction.
Check out the data spreadsheets we created and how we used data meetings with students to ensure we were meeting growth and proficiency targets. Presenters: Delishia Moore, Bridgette Robbins, Colina Bartlett, Reina Deniega
