In today's diverse classrooms, understanding the distinction between differentiation and intervention is crucial for fostering effective teaching and enhancing student learning outcomes. Participants will engage in an in-depth examination of what differentiation and intervention truly entail, including their objectives and methods. We will discuss how differentiation tailors instruction to meet the varied needs of learners with scaffolds and supports to access on grade level core instruction, while intervention focuses on providing targeted Tier 2 or Tier 3 support to students beyond core instruction. Key highlights of the presentation will include concretely defining the two terms so participants understand the nuances between differentiation and intervention and why each is essential but different pieces of the educational landscape. The most recent 2019 research will be shared that captures 3 best practices and 3 implementation mistakes for the intervention structure. Participants will engage in discussions and hands-on activities to support active learning. By the end of this session, educators will have a deeper understanding of how to navigate these approaches, empowering them to create more inclusive and responsive learning environments that cater to the diverse needs of their students. Join us as we uncover the strategies that will help your school "Reach New Heights in School Performance."
