At Robbins Elementary, we know that it is impossible to control every factor that impacts our students' success, but we can control our instruction and the decisions we make to impact that instruction. Moving beyond the trend means establishing a culture focused on constant and never-ending improvement by always seeing the possibilities in any and all situations. This session will describe a systematic way to increase levels of support whereby the needs of all learners are identified and targeted effectively. Participants will examine and discuss collaborative structures and tools that have been put in place to monitor and support the effectiveness of instruction and will also be given a template allowing them the opportunity to follow along in the process of inputting data into a spreadsheet that will generate a trend line, providing evidence of instruction effectiveness and removing the guesswork. Embedding such support can provide knowledge of what is really happening and help to ensure that the knowledge is used in order to work together to create opportunities for students and staff to learn and grow.
