North Carolina is the fourth state with the largest percentage of military-connected students in public schools. There are over 52,000 military-connected students attending schools in North Carolina, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). This breakout session will take you through a series of support programs for military-connected families: such as tracking data, supporting military family's educational needs, and community support/partnerships are available to develop a collaborative culture of high expectations for students and staff.
Discussion will include:
Tracking military-connected data such as Military student Identifier (MSI), transitional data, missing MSI, disaggregating academic data (conversations to have with your Data and Accountability office).
