Grant-funded projects have helped libraries to expand their resources and collections, improve workflow efficiency, and initiate new services. This presentation will share how library access service practitioners are engaging in grant seeking activities and using funding opportunities to meet library users’ specific needs by highlighting two recently awarded staff facilitated grant projects. “Now You’re Speaking My Language” provides 10 circulating Pocketalk translating devices, which can translate 82+ languages through live speech and written text and are utilized to support multilingual learning, communication, and integration at the libraries. “Power Word Play” adds 80 Dungeons & Dragons kits for circulation to support the diversification of library resources and promote the social and emotional wellbeing of our users. Our accomplishments in grant seeking activities shows that grant work is within all our abilities and is possible. This is something we all can pursue and achieve.
