The Access Services Department at the Fineman & Pappas Law Libraries at Boston University went through a comprehensive reorganization during the COVID pandemic. Retirements and resignations opened opportunities to comprehensively rethink the work of Access Services and how it is performed. Additionally, enhanced management of student employees substantively altered the nature of the work of the departmental staff, with all of us increasing our managerial duties and with far less rote, routinized work. Opening up opportunities for growth and continued learning and development were key goals. / Three years out, it is an opportune time to describe our process, what has worked, how the vision has evolved, and the lessons learned along the way.
