This course demonstrates that thinking critically can be a learned ability through "mental strength training" and practice. Critical Thinking is not just "you either have it or you don't." Perhaps "common sense isn't common" because we aren't teaching our newer Public-Safety Telecommunicators effective ways of asking questions, accurately building connections, and how to properly analyze the meaning and quality of information provided. This course discusses each, alongside Bloom's Taxonomy & the three (3) factors required for critical thinking to occur. Real-world examples & practice tools are utilized while analyzing live 9-1-1 call recordings as well as brief practical games that inspire creative thought.
