Accurate Civic Address and Dispatchable Location data are foundational to NG9 1 1 call routing and effective emergency response. As Alabama advances geospatial call routing, Emergency Communications Districts (ECDs) must ensure these datasets remain complete, accurate, and aligned with both local addressing authorities and statewide NG9 1 1 requirements. This user group session highlights why address and location data are not one time cleanup efforts but living datasets that require continuous validation and stewardship.
Participants will examine common challenges such as missing or mislocated address points, legacy MSAG discrepancies, and boundary misalignment, and how these issues impact call routing, CAD operations, and downstream public safety systems. The session will introduce how Alabama ECDs use VEP , along with DATAMARK’s Address Comparison & Evaluation (ACE) process, to identify address gaps, validate authoritative sources, and improve long term data quality. Attendees will leave with practical insights for sustaining NG9 1 1 ready Civic Address and Dispatchable Location data over time.
