This session explores how the DoW’s financial management training ecosystem is evolving to prepare the 2030 FM workforce. The vision incorporates our rapidly changing mission environment, workforce expectations, and technology landscape. Drawing on government and industry perspectives, the speakers will discuss why traditional, classroom-centric training models are no longer sufficient on their own—and how distributed learning enables scalable, timely, and mission-relevant training across the DoW FM workforce. The discussion will highlight emerging trends shaping DoW FM training, including increased demand for role-based and just-in-time learning, the growing importance of data and automation platforms, and the need to balance policy foundations with applied, technical skill development. Attendees will gain insight into how distributed learning can strengthen workforce resilience, improve training access and consistency, and better align learning investments with operational needs across the Services.
