As the global supply chain increases in complexity, a single disruption can significantly impact an organization and cause substantial risk to consumer health, not to mention brand reputation. In light of the FDA’s New Era of Smarter Food Safety and the Food Safety Modernization Act’s requirements for Sanitary Transport of Human and Animal Foods, most food companies see the cold supply chain as a “black hole” with limited insights and visibility to manage safety risks properly. The risks posed within the cold supply chain are unique and different from those that food safety and quality professionals typically experience within the “four walls” of their food manufacturing facility and require thorough investigation to implement Preventative Controls that work. Businesses must move from a position of reaction to prevention and take a holistic supply chain approach to develop collaborative systems with all stakeholders.
In this presentation, attendees will:
• Understand the often confusing perishable supply chain better
• Comprehend the critical challenges food safety and quality professionals are facing today as it relates to cold chain distribution
• Appraise the cold supply chain from the perspective of Preventative Controls and how to manage all associated risks
