Vehicles are rolling computers, yet they remain largely black boxes. Drivers are frustrated when the check-engine light turns on without explanation, service costs feel opaque, and their data goes underutilized. At the same time, OEMs and suppliers face mounting integration costs and fragmented platforms, slowing the rollout of new services. Artificial Intelligence is now at the inflection point where it can tie these pieces together. When combined with open data standards and interoperable APIs — the very focus of COVESA — AI can unlock safer driving, lower maintenance costs, new revenue opportunities, and faster industry innovation. This session will highlight how AI agents built on top of interoperable vehicle data can deliver concrete value today, while also charting a path for the industry to align around open approaches.
