Collaboration in Action
"This session will showcase Nash County Public Schools’ journey in building a district-wide instructional improvement initiative anchored in a clear instructional framework and Dr. Anita Archer’s principles of Explicit Instruction. This work is data-driven, rooted in content-focused PLCs, and centered on student success. We will share how PLCs at every level—district, school, and classroom—are strategically used to analyze data, identify student learning needs, and select high-leverage instructional practices that drive improved outcomes for all learners. A key focus will be on the intentional use of Explicit Instruction routines that can be seamlessly embedded in each classroom every day. These routines promote active engagement, student accountability, and checking for understanding in real time. Participants will leave with practical strategies for fostering student engagement and see how these approaches are reinforced across the system—from district-level decision making to collaborative teacher PLCs to daily classroom instruction—ultimately resulting in stronger student outcomes and achievement."
