"In Brunswick County Schools, we built a districtwide attendance system that worked—reducing the percentage of students with over 10% unlawful absences from 12.2% to 6.6% in just one year. Our high schools dropped from 26.9% to 9.2%, with South Brunswick High reducing from 31.8% to 9.5%. Belville Elementary dropped from 2.7% to 0.7%. This session shares our Attendance Blueprint—built on clear policy, aligned MTSS supports, Learning Recovery, weekly attendance review teams, and a powerful Truancy Court partnership that reinforces accountability and support.
