Building Instructional Leadership Capacity
"Once a recurring low-performing district, Nash County Public Schools has transformed teaching and learning by building a system of reflection, accountability, and continuous improvement among school leaders. Join us for an engaging session as we take you on a journey through our district's evolving approach to building leadership capacity. From the early days of establishing Principal Professional Learning Communities to our current structure that incorporates Advanced Teacher Roles (ATR), each step has been intentional in strengthening instructional leadership capacity. Over the years, we’ve refined our model to better support the development of instructional leadership, with one key adjustment being the integration of ATR positions into school leadership teams. As these ATR structures of support have flourished within schools, our district has folded them into our monthly roundtables and walkthroughs cycles, ensuring that the expertise of our most talented teachers is leveraged for broader instructional success. This ongoing evolution allows us to maximize the impact of classroom practice by tapping into the content knowledge and leadership skills of our strongest educators. We invite you to explore how these changes have shaped our district’s commitment to instructional excellence and how this framework can inspire and inform your own leadership strategies."
