Instructor Biography
Adam Maxwell is an Account Manager and Customer Engagement Specialist attached to the Vortex Optics Military and Law Enforcement Sales Team. Adam came to Vortex through the competitive shooting program being active in the action shooting sports since 2007 participating in 3-gun, USPSA, and IDPA. Specializing in 3-gun as a multi time champion, ranked Pro in both the 3-Gun Nation and United Multigun Leagues as well as Grand Master in USPSA. Adam has risen through the Customer Care, Technical Support and now LE Sales teams as a Subject Matter Expert on Low Power Variable Optics and their various applications.
Course Description
There is increasing interest and use of Low Power Variable Optics (LPVO) in law enforcement applications. This course presents from a manufacturer prospective into: what the optics are/are not, what they do/do not accomplish, FAQ's and best practices specifically for law enforcement use. This course will address a brief history, set up, applications, zeroing, dynamic and positional shooting. In addition the course will cover specifically what does money buy in LPVO's at different price points. Prospective agencies will come away with a solid understanding of what the systems are and if they are a fit for their applications. Agencies fielding LPVO programs will have a solid direction for use in the field and best practices for implementation.
Student Equipment Required
An LPVO equipped carbine (loaners available upon request at no cost) -500rds of ammo -At least 3 full capacity magazines (more is convenient) -Students preference of LBE if desired (belt pouches, chest rigs, ect) -sling -Eye and ear protection -knee
pads if desired
