Early access to vehicle data plays a crucial role in accelerating innovation and improving development processes in automotive. This session will explore how virtual development environments with cloud-based access to vehicle data, leveraging the Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS), enable flexible, scalable solutions for prototyping, AI model deployment, and seamless collaboration.
The session will include practical insights from use cases including demos with spotlights on key takeaways for early innovation including advantages of VSS and insights for how to move from virtual prototypes to physical hardware fast and cost-effectively once available. Demos:
- Visualization of vehicle data for co-debugging: The general benefits of gathering vehicle data in the cloud for prototyping, co-debugging, instead of sharing vehicle recordings ad hoc. A cloud environment provides a collaborative area for annotations and a single source of truth. Vehicle data transformed to VSS enables third-party sharing.
- NXP AI as a service: Virtual flow for CAN recording transformed into VSS vehicle data stream is used for rapid development of AI models. These flows can be replaced by physical CAN-based signals with minimal effort for deployed models. Easy integration with reusable mappings (both virtual and physical) across vehicle models for all use cases.
- UX design for early ability to verify assumptions and easily try in the real vehicle: feature development to bridge the gap between designers and engineers and early feedback/iterations. VSS as human-readable (opens the potential to understand what could be designed). Cloud recordings as a lightweight complement in addition to expensive setups and environments. How to try the cluster in real-time in a vehicle mule or vehicle with exposed can buses.
