Technical Presentation
Building sophisticated applications as for connected vehicles, Android, or fleet management creates the need for seamless interaction between applications and vehicle hardware. This presentation explores signal - based and service - oriented architectures for creating effective abstraction layers. We will introduce and contrast the signal-based Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS), conceptually somehow like Android Automotive's VHAL, with the service-driven approach of uServices. Initially, these methods may appear divergent, but they offer complementary strengths that, when combined, create a powerful and flexible solution for managing complex vehicle data and functionality. Join us to discover how we utilized these benefits as part of a service-to-signal blueprint. You will also learn about our
implementation available under an open source license using Eclipse Kuksa and Eclipse Zenoh in the Rust programming language. We invite participants to provide feedback and share their ideas for extending the blueprint
