See how Rockingham County Schools collaborates with Rockingham Community College, Economic Development and community partners to create career pathways for middle and high school students. This presentation will demonstrate to school leaders the importance of career exploration in middle grades through hands-on career ready labs and the creation of career development plans through the use of Major Clarity. Hear how leaders can work together with their Central Office Career Technical Education team to assist students in high school pathways that allow students to work towards credentialing and opportunities for work-based learning to include job shadowing, apprenticeships and internships. See how Rockingham County developed career pathway knowledge to ensure that school counselors were equipped to advise students on career pathways and making connections within the exploration of their own interests. See how the district created a website that counselors use as an advising tool to expedite enrollment career and college promise courses.
