Roundtable
Efforts are underway to make the conservation field in Wisconsin and beyond more diverse, equitable, and inclusive, acknowledging the decades of institutional racism and other barriers that have resulted in the exclusion of communities of color and other underrepresented groups from the sector. This roundtable discussion will include a brief overview about current efforts underway to support Wisconsin’s conservation community with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts, followed by a discussion that will engage participants in reflecting on DEI within the context of their own organizations, including challenges and barriers, and identifying actionable opportunities and considerations they can take away to advance this important work. Participants are encouraged to reflect on this topic in advance and will be invited to share as part of the group discussion. Anyone with an interest and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion is welcome to participate.
