This session is an overview of my Certified Public Manager project. Exploring the use of an Adaptive Onboarding Toolkit for new employees to set them up for success on day one. There is a difference between orientation and onboarding of new employees. While an orientation for employees is a necessary piece of the hiring process, and includes rules, regulations, and benefits, one might raise the issue that onboarding is just as important for the comfort and adaptation into the culture of the organization. In name alone, onboarding paints a picture of bringing a new employee onboard and into the company, team, or role, in such a way, that steadies the ship and helps prepare the employee for a smooth and successful sailing with the organization. In this session, we will discuss the items that will help set employees up for success and feel more at ease on day one of employment.
