This workshop will examine the complexities of power, privilege and its effect on Black males. Participants will be challenged to think critically about the systems of society and how Black males navigate and contribute to those systems as they participate in society and go through the college pipeline. We will engage in critical dialogue to unpack and understand the impact of these themes on Black male students and the greater educational system. Through this experience, participants will deconstruct the themes of power and privilege, while constructing a tool kit for breaking through these barriers and positively contributing to change. Individuals should leave feeling empowered, knowledgeable, and more reflective about how to accomplish Black Boy Joy!
