One in ten children experience child sexual abuse. Child sexual abuse often occurs in isolated situations. Community Action program staff may be able to identify potential abuse, reduce risk factors, and build the resiliency of children and non-offending caregivers after abuse.
In this session, participants will
Identify potential signs of child abuse and risk factors for abuse
Learn how to report suspected abuse
Understand Kentucky's multidisciplinary response to child abuse reports and the role of children’s advocacy centers (CAC) in this response
Identify ways that CACs and Community Action Programs can partner locally to promote protective factors and resiliency.
