In recent years, we have seen the trend to centralized E/E architectures and in the near future also a cloud integration of vehicle operations.
These architectural trends need also to be reflected in the software architecture of the vehicle. We will see horizontal technology stacks from the deeply embedded controllers up to the cloud.
A major building block for this stack will be a Vehicle API, which abstracts the model-specific SW middleware. But it will be essential to have an open, industry-aligned Vehicle API, which uses the identical semantics for onboard and cloud integration and across QM and safety related applications. In this session, you will learn about the architecture of the stack, the proposed mapping of the API in it and some use cases.
