This interactive session will equip participants with knowledge, skills, tools, and resources to support reliable use of teach-back and organizational health literacy. Teach-back helps promote adherence, quality, safety, equity, and patient-centered care. The Always Use Teach-back! Toolkit was created to support individual and organizational improvement in effective use of teach-back whenever it is indicated—to make it an “always” event. Through presentation, group discussion, and exploration of Toolkit components, participants will be prepared to develop a teach-back-oriented organizational health literacy plan. • Describe how teach-back and organizational health literacy are key to safe, high-quality, equitable care. • Identify key components of the Always Use Teach-back! Toolkit. • Plan next steps to increase use of teach-back in your setting.
