Before COVID came around, Communicate For Health Justice (CFHJ) was already using new media to get messages of health equity out to the world. And they haven't stopped since it started in 2018. Led by Creator, Chelsea Dade, MS, CFHJ is a space for health champions who call out inequity by way of communications. Join this connection cafe to network and learn more about the approaches CFHJ has taken to stay relevant in a changing social media environment.
Objectives:
• Formulate a crystal-clear understanding of the most severe health inequities facing Black and Brown people, especially women and girls, and why communicating about them matters for achieving equity.
• Analyze several theoretical frameworks in communications to apply them to practice for a more equitable public health response.
• Receive a toolbox of media tools and communications examples that center the health experiences of Black and Brown people.
