Descriptions: In this digital world, health information systems can enable health literate care but they can also create barriers for access. During this live lecture, you will hear from several health organizations on their use and implementation of health information systems to support health literacy best practices. We will also explore approaches to address the potential barriers raised by these systems. Objectives 1. Name at least one feature in a health information system that can help to standardize a health literacy approach 2. Consider multiple ways patients can be involved in building a health information system or patient portal
