Course Description: This mini course provides a foundational understanding of the connection between federal budgeting and accounting systems. Participants will explore how both budgetary and proprietary accounting are essential to managing federal financial resources and complying with legal mandates. By learning about the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL) and the processes involved in federal financial management, participants will gain the tools to make informed decisions and maintain fiscal responsibility.

Describe the connections in and between the budgetary and proprietary accounting systems

• Identify basic transactions required in both systems from the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL)
