The recently enacted New York State budget included numerous changes in State law related to housing – from new real property tax incentives designed to spur the production of additional housing and specifically affordable housing, to incentives to convert offices to residential use, to “good cause” eviction prevention, to a new “Housing for New Yorkers” program patterned after the Mitchell-Lama law. Join us for a discussion about these initiatives, and hear from some of the people who were integral to the discussions around housing issues in the budget talks about how it all came together.
